Regina Urueta, Specialist

Regina Urueta is a specialist with Insight Education Group. In this role, she partners withschool districts across multiple projects to provide targeted executive coaching support foreducator effectiveness, leadership initiatives and student learning. Prior to joining Insight,

Regina served as the associate director of TIF grants for the South Carolina Department ofEducation. In that role, she was responsible for hiring and training regional project coachesto support 148 schools in 19 districts throughout the state as they implemented school improvement models. She trained and supported district and school leaders in leadership and professional growth systemic changes and conducted school/district level reviews that showed the impact of efforts made on both teacher/student growth. She trained district leaders and teachers on implementing the use of the state teacher evaluation system and on the coaching processes utilized to help ensure the professional growth of teachers. She assisted district leadership teams in designing comprehensive human capital management systems and developed and presented curriculum training for district and school-level instructional leaders. Regina taught at the elementary and middle school levels for several years and was a school level/district administrator for 17 years. During her time as a school level principal, she was recognized at the national level for innovative instructional practices that led to school transformation.

Regina earned her bachelor of arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree and EdD in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Clemson University.

She believes that everyone can be successful when given clear expectations, they are provided with best practice tools, they are supported through guided self-reflection and individualized coaching practices that utilize a data/asset-based approach. She is committed to supporting educators at all levels as they collaborate, participate in high-quality professional learning, and reflect on the impact of their actions on leader, teacher and student growth.
