Tim Suba, Senior Associate

Tim Suba is a senior associate with Insight Education Group. In this role, he partners with clients to provide targeted support for educator effectiveness and strategic planning initiatives.

Prior to Insight, Tim was most recently with The Achievement Network (ANet), a national nonprofit organization based in Boston, MA dedicated to using relevant data, high learning standards, and effective teaching to advance equity and boost student outcomes. As a director of new partnerships, he partnered with dedicated teachers and leaders in small and large school districts, state departments of education, and CMOs across several states to align assessment and curriculum strategy with ever-evolving high ELA and math standards. He combined an understanding of high learning standards, strategies for using formative and interim assessments for learning, and promoted the creation and use of structures for teacher collaboration. Additionally, he partnered with funders, district leaders, and community stakeholders to cultivate ANet's first network of partner schools on the West Coast.

As a director of school support with ANet, Tim partnered directly with school leaders and teachers to boost student outcomes by using data from high-quality, standards-aligned interim assessments. In the critical years during which states, districts, and schools were working hard to align materials and assessments to new high standards, Tim ensured his partner schools were connected to materials, assessments, and thinking that reflected the shifts towards higher quality and expectations. He worked closely with schools in Newark, NJ, Boston, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area, CA.

Tim spent six years as a middle and high school math teacher, math department chair, and eventually an assistant principal, at EPIC Award-winning Boston Preparatory Charter Public School in Boston. Prior to that he was a special education teacher and learning team coordinator in the greater New Orleans area, as well as a school leader for a high-stakes summer school session and teaching institute in Houston, TX.

He believes that teaching is the most important job in the world, and works to ensure that the nation's teachers and leaders have access to materials and opportunities that allow them to be their best. He is a passionate advocate for educational equity.

Tim holds bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri.
