Jill E. Nyhus, Vice President of Educator Quality
Jill E. Nyhus is vice president of educator quality with Insight Education Group. She brings her 20+ years of experience in communications, marketing, K12 education, and edtech to support school districts and organizations nationwide in developing a wide variety of strategic communication and marketing initiatives.
Prior to joining Insight, Jill served as senior director of technology in the Office of Family and Public Engagement for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). In that role, she was responsible for implementing DCPS' public digital communication strategy and overseeing the district’s award-winning website. She was also instrumental in developing Reality PD, a groundbreaking library of video clips showing great teaching by educators in DC Public Schools.
Before joining DC Public Schools, Jill served as the director of new media research and development at Live Elements, a web start-up focused on building online communities for a wide range of organizations. Prior to working at Live Elements, she served as director of web strategy and technology at Cable in the Classroom, where she led the development of award-winning online initiatives.
She is driven by her belief that clear, compelling communication in the education field can spark all kinds of action for change that can ultimately change the trajectory of students' lives.
Jill began her career in education as an elementary and middle school teacher in Prince George's County, Maryland. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wheaton College in Illinois, and a master's degree in educational technology leadership from George Washington University in the District of Columbia.
