Jason Culbertson serves as chief executive officer of Insight Education Group. In this role, he is responsible for strategic planning, business development, fiscal management, and partner satisfaction. Prior to being named CEO, Jason served as president for four years and led the expansion of Insight’s reach and partnerships both nationally and internationally.
Jason began his career as a middle school teacher and instructional coach in a rural, economically disadvantaged area of South Carolina.
He then served as the executive director of the South Carolina Department of Education, providing on-site training, thought-partnership, and innovative solutions to low-performing schools across the state in order to improve the lives of students.
Prior to joining Insight, Jason was the executive vice president of a national education non-profit organization. In that role, he was responsible for the implementation of a variety of educator effectiveness, school improvement, and professional development initiatives in districts nationwide.
During his career, Jason has partnered with schools, districts, and states to secure over $500 million of grant funding to support initiatives directly impacting the most economically disadvantaged students. Additionally, he has led a variety of national education conferences.
Jason believes that providing every child with an outstanding education is the most critical 21st century challenge because of the causal impact of education on all other challenges. He is motivated every day by the belief that every student deserves a high-quality teacher every year, and that teachers deserve the training, support, coaching, tools, and resources to succeed.
He earned bachelor's degrees in history and political science at the University of South Carolina, as well as a master's degree in secondary education and an Ed.S. in educational leadership.
